Spartan™  AR550 Body Armor .

1. Developed specifically to defeat some common threats such as 5.56 x 45 XM193, 5.56 x 45 M855 /SS109 and 7.62 x 51 (.308 Winchester) at a rated velocity of 3,100 fps or less

3. 1/4″ thickness steel, plus coating
4. Single Curve
5. Level III rifle protection
6. IAW NIJ 0101.06 standards

Configuration: This armor comes as a pair, meaning you will receive two side plates. Choose from either 6″ x 6″ (small) or 6″ x 8″ (large) and Base coat or full coat coating.

Full Coat or Base Coat Options:

Both sides of these plates are coated.

The base coat option has an extremely thin layer of our fragmentation mitigation coating to aesthetically enhance the plates, and to provide corrosion resistance. This coating has minimal, if any, fragmentation mitigation capabilities.

For the Full Coat build up option, the back side only has a “courtesy coat” to protect against wear and rust. The front of the plate is lined with 1/4-3/8 of our proprietary coating, Encapsaloc ™.  This coating is what offers the anti-spall premium. The result is a plate approximately 1/2-5/8” total thickness.

Side Plate Weight (per plate):    6×6 approximately 2lbs 9oz (base coat), 2lbs 11oz (full coat), 6×8 approximately 3lbs 6 oz (base coat), 3lbs 12oz (full coat).

Thickness:   .25″ AR550 plus approximately .25″ coating makes this slim profile plate overall .5-.6″ in total thickness
